The Road to the U.S. Supreme Court (or What Is A Lawsuit, Really?)

The Institue for Justice has produced the fantastic video below.  Interested in the steps of a lawsuit? This incredibly informative and entertaining video lays it all out from filing a lawsuit (i.e. suing someone) to trial to appeals to the ultimate arbiter of justice, the U.S. Supreme Court.

Six Things You Should Never Share On Your Social Networking Site

Social media dangers     Attorney David Mittleman of Lansing, Michigan wrote this very practical piece on the Injury Board Blog Network citing the Six Things You Should Never Share on Your Social Networking Site.

Posting the following things, and others (use your imagination) poses a risk to you and your family!

  1. Your birthdate and place
  2. Vacation plans
  3. Home address
  4. Confessionals
  5. Password clues
  6. Risky behaviors

Remember folks, once you've posted something on Facebook, Twitter, Linked-In, etc., it's there forever.  From my perspective as a plaintiff's personal injury lawyer, I prefer to discover things about my client FROM my client, not from the defense attorney who has done his or her due diligence by foraging through the social network sites!
